This weekend, it arrived – the dreaded daylight saving time. It’s tough on anyone who keeps a strict schedule of sleep, work and play but it’s a lot more challenging for parents! This year, we went out on Saturday night, arriving home around 10:15 p.m. just in time to enjoy our “wine time” before turning in, thanks to the notion that we would be gaining an hour of sleep!
I read a Tweet over the weekend that DST used to mean an extra hour at the bars but now it means an extra hour of sleep! Well, we managed to make it both of those things! To celebrate, we tried The Waxed Bat red blend from Argentina. It’s Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Malbec. A comprehensive review and description of this wine is on Honest Wine Reviews. For me, it was a bit peppery but nothing that a Hershey bar can’t fix. Sorry to say the candy bar may have been in my toddler’s trick-or-treat bag. Hopefully he won’t miss it!
The best part about it was the chance to enjoy it AND grab an extra hour, even if our toddler was up and playing by 6:30 a.m., a full half hour before the alarms were scheduled to go off.
