In life there are many opportunities… some are not always recognized right away, some come at unexpected times, some even disguise themselves as challenges. But opportunities represent a way to reengage with your life, examine yourself in a critical way and at times, grow. As I reflect on my career, for example, I’ve come to find that sometimes it might behoove a person to become “uncomfortable” to grow – to “leave the nest” so to speak. Sometimes it’s the only way to develop in your career or chosen profession. As 2012 draws to a close, I am reminded that 2013 will be the 10th year of my time in my current job. I am now considered mid-career level. It’s time to see if a higher level is in my future.
